UK National Screening Committee Submission – Targeted screen of cCMV

A group of audiology professionals has written to the National Screening Committee to submit a new topic for review: Targeted Screening for Congenital CMV.

This is a group submission from national patient representative organisations, and medical and audiological professional bodies.

Please find the proposal below, including a flow chart, and accompanying letter with multiple signatories.

Following two pilot studies in the UK, a pathway for targeted screening for congenital CMV has been in place and working well in the East of England Region for several years.

Two areas in NW England have similar pathways, but most UK regions do not, and targeted screening would address this inequality.
