Audiology Assistant Basic Certificate Course

AUDIOLOGY ASSISTANT BASIC CERTIFICATE COURSE

Commencing September 2023

The course aims to provide the knowledge and understanding required by an Audiology Assistant and Dispensing Assistant.

(NHS Agenda for change pay band 2 or 3 staff/ Apprenticeship levels 2 or 3)

This course is BSA accredited for Audiometry and Tympanometry, and Otoscopy and impression taking (over 5 years), and certificates are awarded on successful completion of the practical exams.

The course will be held at Trafford Hospital, Manchester on the following dates:

20^th – 22^nd September
23^rd – 25^th October
20^th – 22nd November
5^th – 7^th December
23^rd – 24^th January 2024

The course covers the following:

• Anatomy, physiology and pathology of the ear.
• Acoustics, causes and disability of hearing loss, tinnitus.
• Audiometry and diagnostic tests of hearing.
• Hearing devices and technology, rehabilitation, servicing, and repairs.
• Practical content covering audiometry, tympanometry, hearing aid programming and troubleshooting, otoscopy and impression taking.
• Revision day with theoretical and practical exams

The total cost of this course is £1800, this includes theoretical and practical assessments.

Candidates that wish to attend selected days or specific modules only, please contact us for costs.

The practical assessment can be taken the following year if needed.  Any previous course attendees can apply to take the practical assessment following completion of the workbook. Please contact us for cost.

Place will be available on payment of fees.
