Over the next few weeks, you will be hearing a lot from us. I’m giving you the heads up now, so you can keep an eye on your inbox and I’m making no apology for our neediness. We are a membership body, we work for you, so we do need to know what you think.

Today we are launching our membership survey. We want to know what you think of what we do on your behalf, our advocacy work, what we offer to you as an individual, our webinars, e-learning and face-to-face events. We would like to hear about what else you would like us to be doing more of, or if we are missing something altogether. We aim to represent our members from all parts of the audiology sector, so are we doing enough for you?

Hopefully in a fortnight, we will also be sending out the result of a huge piece of work by Board Director Michelle Foster and her committee. This is the BAA Principles of NHS Job Planning. This is a suite of documents coming out for consultation. Michelle and her committee have created a set of standard job descriptions for AfC Bands which include indicative job plans. These have been asked for by many of you for a long time and hopefully will prove to be helpful. We welcome all comments on these to make sure they are right and fit for purpose.

Also, towards the end of October we will be working together with our other colleagues in BSA, BSHAA and AIHHP to send out a joint consultation on the future of our collaboration – this one is very important as it could impact on all our futures.

Whilst we are talking about interacting with us, this is your last week to vote for our Board Directors. We have 20 to choose 6 from and are spoilt for choice as the potential we have on offer from the candidates is overwhelming. Voting closes at midnight on 2nd October.

This is your profession and BAA is here to support you, your career and our profession nationally. We can only do this if we know what you need, want, feel is important. So get stuck in, put a little time aside to review the documents, fill in the survey. Vote! It is the only way we know we are doing the right thing.
