Rayovac has announced the cancellation of their European Audiologist of the Year competition. The company say that, in light of everything that is happening in the world at the moment, with coronavirus COVID-19, and in particular the additional pressure this is placing on audiologists and their customers, they have taken the difficult decision to cancel the European Audiologist of the Year awards for 2020.
They acknowledge that audiologists and hearing professionals across Europe are working extremely hard, under very challenging circumstances to ensure that their customers have access to essential hearing technology and audiology services while balancing these needs with their health and that of their staff. As such, they do not feel it is the right time to push the competition.
Rayovac wish to reassure audiologists and patients who have submitted entries for this year’s competition, that these will be included in the 2021 judging process.
The next European Audiologist of the Year awards will open in early 2021, anyone who has already submitted an entry will be contacted directly. Paula Cook of Aston Hearing in Amersham was awarded the title of European Audiologist of the Year 2019, just weeks after being crowned the United Kingdom Audiologist of the Year.
