New Senior Audiology Advisor for NDCS
The National Deaf Children’s Society has appointed Samantha Lear as its new Senior Audiology Advisor.
She will join the charity from Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, where she currently works as Lead Clinical Scientist in Hearing Services, on November 8th.
Her previous roles include scientific input into the newborn hearing screening programme at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield, and at Great Ormond Street Hospital in their paediatric cochlear implant programme.

“I am delighted to be welcoming Samantha to the National Deaf Children’s Society. She brings with her an incredibly high level of expertise and nearly three decades of experience in audiology.
“She will be a real asset to the charity and the work we do. I very much look forward to adding her skills to the team as we continue our work towards a world without barriers for deaf children.”

“I’m very pleased to be joining the National Deaf Children’s Society and contributing to the vital work they do. It’s an exciting new challenge for me and one that allows me to make the best use of my knowledge and skills.
“Thousands of deaf children and their families have struggled during the pandemic, with many facing issues that they’ve never had to deal with before.
“It’s crucial that the charity is there to support every deaf child who needs us and it’s a role I’m very much looking forward to.”
Samantha is currently Vice-president of the British Academy of Audiology and has nearly 30 years of experience as a Clinical Scientist in Audiology.
