The Association of Clinical Scientists is looking for new assessors.
The procedure and criteria for new assessors, and general information regarding the ACS and their application/assessment process, can be found at https://assclinsci.org/ and https://assclinsci.org/applicants/application-documents/ (full document set for applicants).
The ACS expects the time commitment to be approximately the equivalent of 1-2 days per year (firstly to understand the process and guidance documentation, observe at least one assessment and discuss this with experienced assessors), then to conduct assessments by reviewing the portfolio, and if approved, conduct the assessment interview (normally approx. 50-90mins by MS Teams), partnered with an experienced co-assessor for at least the first few assessments.
Part of the process includes that any nominee must observe at least one assessment before acting as a full assessor. Although observing can be in any modality, to gain the most from this the ACS has scheduled an assessment interview in the modality, which will be conducted by long standing assessors via MS Teams on the afternoon of Thursday 3rd March 2022. This might be a good opportunity for someone to observe if nomination papers are received before then.
