CPD ‘integral to safe and effective care’ says leading regulator as it launches its first ever CPD Week
Today (Monday 3rd March) marks the start of the Health and Care Professions Council’s (HCPC’s) first ever Continuing Professional Development (CPD) week. During the week, the regulator will be sharing materials and information to support its 350,000 registrants with their CPD activity.
The campaign will provide an opportunity to showcase resources and good practice cases with registrants and employers and help them to develop their knowledge and understanding of CPD. Registrants and employers are encouraged to engage with the campaign on social media, using the hashtag: #CPDWeek2025.
Each day of the week will explore a key theme, designed to support professionals with their CPD activity, and highlight to the public the continued learning health and care professionals undertake to maintain their registration with the HCPC:
Christine Elliott, Chair of the HCPC, said:
“CPD is integral to enabling our registrants to provide safe and effective care to the public. When someone is being treated by a professional who is regulated by us, we want them to feel safe in the knowledge that they are keeping up to date with the latest clinical and technological developments.
“Our CPD week draws on our unique position as a multi-profession regulator to help different registrants share what works for them and play our part in supporting high quality care.”
