SUMMARY:North West School of Audiology - Audiology Assistant Basic Certificate Course
DESCRIPTION:North West School of Audiology – Audiology Assistant Basic Certificate Course \nCommencing September 2025 \nThe course aims to provide the underpinning knowledge and understanding that is required by an Audiology Assistant and Dispensing Assistant. \n(NHS Agenda for change pay band 2 or 3 staff/ Apprenticeship levels 2 or 3) \nThis course is BSA accredited for Audiometry and Tympanometry\, and Otoscopy and impression taking (over 5 years) and certificates are awarded on successful completion of the practical exams. \nThe Course will be held at Trafford Hospital\, Manchester on the following months \n\n  September\n  October\n  December\n  January\n  February\n\nThe course covers the following:              \n\nAnatomy\, physiology\, and pathology of the ear.\nAcoustics\, causes and disability of hearing loss\, tinnitus.\nAudiometry and diagnostic tests of hearing including tympanometry.\nHearing devices and technology\, rehabilitation\, servicing\, and repairs\, hearing aid programming and troubleshooting\, otoscopy and impression taking.\nRevision day\, plus a day of theoretical and practical exams\n\nThe total cost of this course is £1800\, this includes theoretical and practical assessments. \nFor candidates who wish to attend selected days or specific modules only\, please contact us for costs. \nThe practical assessment can be taken the following year if needed.  Any previous course attendees can apply to take the practical assessment following completion of the workbook. You’ll also have an opportunity to network with a range of professionals from different backgrounds. The course is updated annually to reflect the latest trends in technology and clinical practice. \nWho this course is for: \n\nAudiologists\nTeachers of the deaf and educational audiologists\nSpeech and language therapists\nGeneral practitioners with a special interest in audiology\nAudiovestibular doctors and other health professionals\n\nYou should have previous knowledge and experience in general audiology. \nCourse themes \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCognitive and behavioural development of infancy and childhood\nObjective hearing tests in infants and children\nSubjective hearing tests in infants and children\nPivotal role of the family in communication development in infants and children\nRoles and remit of the audiologist and others within a reciprocal team for early assessment and intervention built around the individual child and family\n\nTeaching structure \nThe course will run on five consecutive Thursdays. SUMMARY:UCL - Advanced Management of Tinnitus and Hyperacusis
DESCRIPTION:This three-day CPD-accredited Masterclass provides a comprehensive overview of tinnitus and hyperacusis and strategies for assessing and managing these conditions in adults and children. \n\n\nCourse date \n11 February – 13 February 2026 \nOverview \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDuring this long-established masterclass you will have opportunities to interact with a number of established international experts in the fields of tinnitus and hyperacusis and learn from them about theory\, good clinical practice and recent research. You will also have an opportunity to discuss your own experience with a range of professionals from different backgrounds. \nThis 3-day course will take place in person at the Ear Institute on 11-13th Feb 2025 . Days 1 and 2 will focus on tinnitus\, hyperacusis and misophonia in adults. Day three will focus on tinnitus\, hyperacusis and misophonia in children. \nWho this course is for: \n\nAudiologists\nHearing therapists\nClinical psychologists\nAudiovestibular doctors and other health professionals\n\nYou should have some experience working with or observing patients with tinnitus and/or hyperacusis.
