‘We are pleased to announce a series of three webinars with the Academy of Healthcare Science, considering all aspects of applying through the HSS equivalency route to the (AHCS) Higher Specialist Scientist Register (HSSR).  A place on this register would put individuals in a prime position to apply for positions as Consultant Clinical Scientists, typically as heads of services.

Forward planning and exploitation of presenting scientific leadership opportunities is of particular importance to progress through the equivalency route at this level. Consequently, these webinars will be of interest to colleagues at all levels of the career pathway, who have the ambition to take up more senior Healthcare Science leadership roles or want to learn more about their route to those opportunities (via HSSR).

Higher Specialist Scientific Equivalency Webinar 1/3: requirements and processes

12th September, 1pm – 2pm

This webinar will cover what equivalency is and its benefits, including why now, what employers and services are looking for. Presenters will talk about funding for all home countries; the structure of the portfolio and purpose of the interview. There will be some myth busting and expectations, along with changes to documentation and a Q&A section.
