Those are the words of our Vice President, who helped create and then facilitate the sharing of the content of Craig Tilt’s presentation at this year’s conference.
‘Starting from Zero – A first steps in Quality Management toolkit’ will give you a guided tour of the Nottingham toolkit, which includes templates, worked examples, how-to guides and accompanying documentation. At the end of the session, you will be given exclusive access – as a conference delegate – to download the whole toolkit, so you can begin to use it on the Monday after conference.
Mr Craig Tilt, Audiology Project Facilitator, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, will talk at the BAA conference about the Quality Management Toolkit. In his abstract for the presentation, Craig says:
“Over the past year, Audiology services have been pressured to step up their quality assurance processes, and in some places to consider whether they can begin the IQIPS accreditation journey. Knowing how and where to start can feel overwhelming, particularly while continuing to deliver a clinical service. Based on feedback from services just starting their quality management systems, a toolkit has been developed to give people a jump-start. Based on processes used within Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust for several years, the toolkit provides guidance on getting your document control process started, and how that supports building your audit plan and non-conformity system (CAPA). The session will give you a guided tour of the toolkit, which includes templates, worked examples, how-to guides and accompanying documentation. One of the departments we worked with will describe how they used the toolkit – and whether it worked. At the end of the session, you will be given access to the whole toolkit to download, so you can begin to use it on Monday.”
Craig will be joined on stage by Jenny Richardson, Chief Audiologist, United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust to discuss their use of this toolkit:
“After much discussion among the team, we have been puzzled and petered by how to tackle audits and all things quality management following the Lothian investigations and subsequent Paed QS work. I was put in contact with Craig, who very kindly shared the tools he has been developing, and asked to test them out and offer some feedback. My presentation is our experience of the struggles we have had on our quality improvement journey, using the tools Craig has developed, and how they have impacted our quality monitoring work as we move forward to a position where we can consider IQIPs accreditation.”
This important talk is part of the two-day BAA conference in Telford on 21st & 22nd November. Join us and benefit from being with your colleagues, hearing from peers, and sharing experiences with others.
