With the audiology workforce gaps widely reported and the continued need to attract and develop the best talent into the profession (in an ever-competitive higher education landscape), it is important to ensure those providing clinical training are all suitably trained and trained to the same standard. With this in mind, we are seeking enthusiastic members to volunteer to join a new Audiology Clinical Educator Programme Committee.
About the Role
We are looking for individuals with a keen interest and experience in Mentorship/Supervision and learner support (at any level including Apprenticeships, BSc, MSc, HTS, Higher Education) who are committed to developing the next generation of Clinical Educators. Committee members will help design and deliver both online and face-to-face training programmes for colleagues who are currently or aspire to provide Work Based Learning.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing training materials and resources.
- Organising and supporting training events.
- Delivering online and in-person training sessions.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and quality assurance of the programme.
Our aim is for participants who successfully complete the training programme to be awarded a recognised BAA post-nominal qualification to help raise the profile of this important clinical education role.
Eligibility
Applicants should:
- Be a BAA member (with support from local line management)
- Hold a Level 6 qualification or above (e.g. NHS qualification), and/or be an Associate Fellow (or above) of Advance HE.
- Supports Work Based Learning (WBL) and clinical placements in an Audiology clinical setting for Apprentices (all levels), HCA’s, FdSc, Diploma, PTP, STP, MSc, HTS.
