Dr Eldre Beukes, is an Associate Professor at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. Her research involves improving outcomes for people with hearing-related difficulties by developing accessible and evidence-based care models and furthering understanding of these difficulties. She received the prestigious Shapiro prize from the British Tinnitus Association for her research three years in concession between 2017 -2019 and the Hallpike Research Prize in 2019 for her work on the development and running of clinical trials to assess the effectiveness of Internet-based interventions. She is the co-author of three books, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Tinnitus; Evaluating and Conducting Research in Audiology and Teleaudiology Today; and has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles.
As course leader for the Foundation Degree and Higher Apprenticeship in Hearing Aid Audiology she has varied experience providing education at various levels and supervises PhD students.
She is a clinical scientist in Audiology and was awarded the Richard May prize following her training. She has worked in a range of NHS trusts and currently works in the private sector as co-director of Audiological Specialist Care. She is a Senior Fellow of the British Society of Audiology and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
