Dr. Regina San Gabriel is a Filipina Doctor of Audiology whose journey spans continents and communities. With special interests in ototoxicity, women’s health related to hearing and tinnitus, and occupational hearing health, she earned her Doctor of Audiology from A.T. Still University (USA), a Master’s in Clinical Audiology from the University of Santo Tomas (Philippines), and a BSc in Life Sciences (Specialisation: Microbiology) with a Minor in Health and Development from Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines).

Her career began in the Philippines with Better Hearing Philippines, Inc. (BHPI), where she combined clinical care with nationwide advocacy. She led the creation of the country’s first hearing health directory, which was recognised by the World Health Organization for World Hearing Day, and collaborated with Prof. Andrew Smith of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to bring the Public Health Planning for Hearing Impairment course online for audiologists in the Philippines.

In time, her passion for advancing hearing healthcare drew her to the UK, where she now serves as a Clinical Consultant Audiologist at Regain Hearing. In this role, she develops clinical guidelines, trains audiologists, and continues her commitment to patient-centred, holistic care.

As a member of the BAA Service Quality Committee, her goal is to contribute to evidence-based standards that elevate hearing care, promote consistency across services, and ensure every patient receives compassionate, high-quality support no matter where they seek help. Regina’s work is driven by a deep passion to help others with their hearing, as well as restore the joy, connection, and full richness of life for every person she serves.
