Promoting Audiology sub-group
I have worked within audiology for over 20 years, beginning my career as an Assistant Technical Officer in the NHS. During this time, I completed two foundation degrees while gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of clinical services. My dedication to lifelong learning and patient care led me to qualify as an Audiologist within the Trust, where I developed a foundation in both adult and paediatric audiology.
For the past eight years, I have worked in the private sector, and in February 2025, I launched my own independent audiology practice. Running my own service has given me first-hand experience in promoting audiology, raising awareness of hearing health, and ensuring that high-quality, patient-centred care is accessible within the community.
I have been privileged to participate in Starkey Hearing Foundation missions to Armenia and Artsakh, providing hearing healthcare to communities with limited access. These experiences reinforced my belief in the importance of promoting audiology on a wider scale and demonstrated the tangible impact that awareness and advocacy can have for individuals and families.
I have actively supported families through voluntary roles, including serving as a parent representative with the National Deaf Children’s Society and as Chairperson of the South Bucks Deaf Children’s Society. These roles have allowed me to advocate for children with hearing loss, raise awareness of their needs, and work collaboratively with families and professionals to improve access to services and support.
