Roslyn Parker, Head of Evaluation, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
I completed my undergraduate training at the Universities of Southampton and Manchester, qualifying with a BSc in Audiology in 2010. Following qualification, I returned to the North East, where I worked within a large comprehensive NHS department for 9 years, specialising in hearing rehabilitation and vestibular disorders. I completed an MSc in Rehabilitative Audiology through Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh alongside clinical duties and in September 2019 I took a role as a Research Audiologist within a large NHS service in the West Midlands with studies including remote assessment pathways, auditory implants, and tinnitus treatment as well as leading the organisation and facilitation of the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement group.
I currently work as a lead in the evaluation of medical technologies, including supporting NICE’s Medical Technologies Evaluation Programme as part of an External Assessment Group.
I am passionate about professional development ensuring an engaged and highly qualified audiology workforce delivering the best in patient care. In the wider network, I am a member of the British Society of Audiology (BSA) Research and Development committee
