Faculty

De Montfort University (DMU) is a bold, forward‑thinking and proudly inclusive institution where innovation and ambition thrive. We are nationally recognised for our commitment to equity and excellence, holding Advance HE’s Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence for our sector‑leading Decolonising DMU work, and we are the first UK university to achieve the Race Equality Charter Silver Award.

Within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, we educate and empower professionals who make a real impact on people’s lives, health and wellbeing. This role sits within the Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences — a dynamic school with a strong reputation for high‑quality teaching and clinical training.

The Role

Join a committed, forward‑thinking team delivering high‑quality teaching and training across a diverse range of audiology programmes. We’re looking for someone with strong expertise in adult aural diagnostics and rehabilitation, alongside specialist knowledge in auditory anatomy and physiology and/or acoustics.

A major part of the role involves being a core member of our academic placement team, working closely with students and placement providers to ensure excellent clinical learning experiences and strong professional partnerships.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the learning experience for our students — contributing to established programmes, helping design new modules, and supporting the development of innovative short courses.

Our Audiology section is one of the largest and best‑equipped in the UK, featuring state‑of‑the‑art clinical facilities and cutting‑edge technology. The role also offers exciting opportunities to engage in enterprise activity, consultancy, and research.

Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who brings both expertise and enthusiasm — a clinician or educator who genuinely enjoys the subject and wants to inspire the next generation of audiology professionals.

You will have:

  • A broad foundation in audiology and confidence teaching across a range of topics.
  • Experience in auditory anatomy/physiology and/or acoustics.
  • A commitment to building strong professional networks and contributing to the growth of our programmes through quality placement partnerships.
  • Either a postgraduate qualification in Audiology or substantial clinical experience.
  • A passion for teaching and training, with creativity and initiative in your approach.

If you’re excited by the idea of teaching, supporting students, and working within a vibrant, well‑resourced audiology team, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
