Board Lead for Conference
In only her second year on the BAA Board, Alison has taken on the significant role of leading our Annual Conference. While this is a major commitment, she is supported by an outstanding programme committee and professional conference organisers.
BAA Conference Lead Objectives
Objective 1: Deliver a high-quality and sustainable annual conference
Supporting Actions
- Deliver a successful BAA Annual Conference within budget.
- Maintain strict planning timelines to ensure seamless operational delivery.
- Enhance programme content by engaging HEIs, researchers and sector contributors.
- Expand attendance by broadening sector and partner engagement.
Objective 2: Plan future events and alternative engagement models
Supporting Actions
- Agree the format and delivery model for the 2027 event, considering WCA2028 implications.
- Explore one-day national or regional events as alternative models.
- Support development of 2027 engagement planning.
Objective 3: Complete tendering and contractual processes
Supporting Actions
- Oversee completion of the 2026–27 tender process by June 2026.

About Alison
I have over 27-years of experience working as an Audiologist in the NHS, working in both adult and paediatric services.
Between 2016 and 2022 I was the Deputy Clinical Director for the Audiology undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University of Manchester, before leaving and taking up the role of Head of Audiology at Mid Cheshire NHS Foundation Trust.
Clinically, my passion is to provide an excellent service to the population we serve through continuous improvement projects. I love the departmental Continuous Improvement Board.
I am keen that we drive professional standards and knowledge through shared learning and working together as a profession.
Outside I have a husband and 2 grown up children – all 3 still keep me on my toes!
