BAA President Objectives

Objective 1: Strengthen cross‑professional collaboration to advance the audiology profession

Supporting Actions

  • Maintain and strengthen partnerships with BSA, BSHAA, AIHHP, BCIG and other professional bodies.
  • Participate in structured, regular meetings with BSA and explore establishing similar formal engagement with BSHAA.
  • Sustain involvement in joint workstreams, including the joint dementia statement.
  • Champion collaboration with the College initiative, demonstrating clear and tangible benefits of cross-professional working to BAA members.

Objective 2: Strengthen national policy leadership and advocacy

Supporting Actions

  • Coordinate BAA’s responses to national consultations and external policy documents.
  • Work in partnership with the Executive Team to manage, support and hold Board Directors accountable for delivery of their objectives.

Objective 3: Oversee Delivery of the World Congress of Audiology

Supporting Actions

  • Lead planning, coordination and delivery of World Congress activity to ensure strong representation of audiology.
  • Provide clear strategic oversight to ensure the event aligns with BAA priorities, professional standards and member expectations.

About Claire

I am a registered Clinical Scientist and Hearing Aid Dispenser. I have worked in audiology for nearly 30 years, most of which have been within the NHS. While I trained in all areas of audiology, I have mainly specialised in paediatric audiology. In the latter years, I have primarily worked with children with tinnitus or hyperacusis.

Throughout my career, I have always been involved with my professional body, beginning with being on the CAC and HTS committees, completing two terms on the BAA board, and being co-opted back in 2022 to lead the successful bid for the World Congress of Audiology in 2028.

Whilst continuing to plan for the WCA, I am looking forward to supporting our profession through the inevitable changes that are to come and working with the Board and other bodies to bring sustainable improvement to Audiology for all.
