BAA Board Director – Treasurer
The BAA Treasurer is an elected Board member serving as the Academy’s Finance Director. As Treasurer, Keiren is responsible for overseeing BAA’s financial management, ensuring compliance with policies, and providing strategic financial direction. The Treasurer acts as the primary financial spokesperson for BAA and leads on financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial leadership, advice, and support to the Board.
- Oversee budgets, forecasts, membership fees, and expense rates.
- Manage relationships with financial administrators, bookkeepers, accountants, and auditors.
- Represent BAA in financial matters with external organisations and the membership.
- Produce and present financial reports to the Board and at the Annual Conference.
- Approve financial decisions and contracts alongside the President.
- Ensure smooth daily financial operations and timely responses to financial enquiries with the support of the BAA finance team.
- The role requires close collaboration with Board members, administration teams, and external financial bodies.

Objective 1: Lead BAA’s financial planning and oversight

- Lead all financial planning activities with support from the management company.
- Ensure robust financial controls and reporting.
Objective 2: Support sustainable income generation

- Work with the Membership Lead on membership income.
- Lead an income‑generation session at the next Board meeting.
- Conduct an HTS fee review and assess long‑term sustainability.
Objective 3: Support event and long‑term financial planning
Supporting Actions
- Support financial planning for Conference 2027 and WCA 2028.
- Prepare 2027 financial modelling (no Conference year).
- Explore pricing models for one‑day or regional events.
- Ensure tender completion by June 2026.
About Keiran
Keiran is the Clinical Lead for the Paediatric Audiology Service at Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London. He is a registered Clinical Scientist, having completed a BSc in Audiology at the University of Bristol in 2011, followed by the STP at the University of Manchester, with a clinical placement at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2014.
Keiran has experience working in adult Audiology and vestibular services before choosing to specialise in Paediatric Audiology, now leading one of the largest non-consultant led paediatric audiology services in the UK. He is passionate about challenging the status quo and continually seeking to improve practice in the field. By working on several national and international research projects, he hopes to push the boundaries to improve the quality of care for patients in London and across the profession. Keiran regularly presents his work at courses and conferences, and is currently a section editor for ENT & Audiology News.
Outside of Audiology, Keiran has completed a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and is a Chartered Manager.
